So you're booked at room at a U.S. hotel like a Fairfield Inn or any other such place that offers breakfast.
Mostly awful stuff...
In Israel the mid-range hotels in which we stayed, arranged through OAT (Overseas Adventure Travel), had breakfast included. For tourists not traveling with a tour, there may be an charge for breakfast.
So what's an Israeli hotel breakfast? Salads, salads, salads, cheeses, yogurts, hummus, baba ganouch, hot dishes, breads, jams, dried fruit, granola, olives, etc.
Israeli Salad or Arabic Salad, depending on where you eat.
It is a Israeli staple for breakfast, lunch & dinner

Stuffed grape leaves in a tiny jars (right center)
Cow cheeses & goat cheeses and everything in between
Didn't know the name or contents of many things served
In most hotels at which we stayed the breakfast was Kosher. Serving any milk product prohibits the serving of meat at the meal (and visa versa). Yes, you do see two different fish and a tuna salad above, however fish is not meat and is OK.
Above are the selections from a single breakfast. All the hotels where we stayed had similar breakfasts. The Spa Club Dead Sea Hotel had the most outrageous bread display.
Most hotels would also take requests like omelets and espresso/latte. But wait, there's more... My favorite - Halvah
Halvah - a sweet sesame confectionery. Manna from heaven!
Irene's - that's Halvah crumbled on my yogurt!
I have never had breakfasts like this
